Biography
Shari joined IUPUI in 2001 in the Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research in the IU School of Medicine, and then the Indiana Diabetes Research Institute.
Shari became the Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor in the Office of Community Engagement in 2015, and was promoted to the Program Manager for Special Events and Outreach.
She serves as the point of contact for sponsorships, travel, and special events. She is also the staff liaison for the United Way Campaign, Spirit of Philanthropy, IU Campus Campaign, and the IUPUI 50th Anniversary.
Shari has extensive experience in event planning, including Midwest Islet Club annual symposium, Gordon Research Conference on Phagocytes, and a fundraiser for the Indiana Diabetes Research Center. She served as the team coordinator for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation annual walk, has been a family speaker for the Riley Children’s Foundation and serves as a digital ambassador for Riley Hospital for Children.
Shari received her Associates of Science Degree in Executive Secretarial Science in 1991 from Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. She is currently enrolled in the IUPUI School of Liberal Arts pursuing her General Studies Degree with a minor in Event Planning. She is also the recipient of the 2011 IUPUI Nan Bohan Community Engagement Award.
