Janie’s role is to oversee fiscal and human resource management in the Office of Community Engagement, and she is often involved in troubleshooting issues and problems with her co-workers. She gets to work with everyone in the office to make sure they have what they need to get their job done, she said.

She is involved in overseeing transactions and fiscal analysis, while also overseeing control processes that ensure financial integrity and compliance with university policies. She also oversees human resources for the office.

Janie has a Bachelor’s of science degree in accounting from Ball State University, and has also undergone leadership training at IU Indianapolis.

She has one son and is involved with Eastern Star Church, where she has been a member for more than 20 years.
