Voter Information

What you need to know

Go beyond your vote

All members of the campus community are encouraged to learn about civic processes, including voting and public service. You have many opportunities to interact with elected officials and community organizations and participate in engaging opportunities throughout the year.

You can also get to know your elected officials by signing up for their newsletters and following them on social media. Let them know where you stand on issues by calling, writing or emailing their office and attending their public meetings.

The key election dates in Indiana for 2026 are:

  • October 5: Indiana voter registration deadline
  • October 6: First day of early voting, also known as absentee voting in person
  • October 22: Deadline for absentee-by-mail applications to be received
  • November 3: General Election Day

Visit vote.org for information on election deadlines in other states.

Follow @iuindyvotes on Instagram for voter registration opportunities on campus and more.
