In order for the Indianapolis community to thrive, it’s important for everyone to have access to continuing education and career-expanding opportunities. IU Professional Development and Continuing Education (PDCE) is IU Indianapolis’s central office for open-course and customized training, professional development, and continuing education. PDCE partners extensively with Indiana University schools and centers to design curriculum and offer programming.
We connect you with the resources you need to maximize your economic opportunities, whether you’re an individual or a business.
No matter who you are, it pays to continually update and increase your skillset. PDCE offers ongoing education and skill-building courses, workshops, executive learning, professional development, and coaching tailored to the needs of jobseekers, in-career professionals, and career changers. Open-enrollment professional and continuing education programs are designed for in-career professionals — whether exploring a professional interest, developing new skills, or shifting careers.
Most PDCE courses are eligible for Continuing Education (CE) credits and IUI certificates of study widely recognized by employers. PDCE courses are taught in-person, remote, and hybrid formats by experienced professionals who understand the needs and career goals of adults seeking to learn new skills, refresh and expand existing knowledge, and/or gain confidence with emerging techniques and tools.
PDCE offers Customized Education and professional development programs through proprietary contract-education and consulting agreements. Recent clients include Crane Army Ammunition Activity (CAAA), St Jude/ALSAC, Capital Center, Indianapolis Airport Authority, City of Indianapolis, American Bus Association, Red Cross, IPS Schools, and numerous small businesses and nonprofit organizations.
IU offers a variety of professional development classes that allow you to widen your horizons and prepare yourself for new career opportunities. We can connect you with continuing education programs in a variety of fields.
