Bringing theory-building and research to impactful changed practices

An IUPUI multidisciplinary Community Engaged Research Group (CERG) was developed through collaborative efforts of the Office of Community Engagement and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research. CERG was created to develop, support, and sustain community engaged research; community based participatory research; and creative activity at IUPUI.

Our mission

CERG develops, supports and sustains community-engaged research, community-based participatory research and creative activity at IUPUI.

Democratic voice, equity through ethical reciprocity and social justice, community self-determination, shared space for dialogue and effective mentoring.

Our goals

  1. Provide space for shared dialogue to explore the evolving field of community-engaged research and creative activity.
  2. Create community to collect, find, and build commonality around community engaged research and creative activity.
  3. Identify and implement strategic community engaged research and creative activity projects.
  4. Identify, disseminate and use shared resources and co-created knowledges to support CERG’s mission.
